It was a frigid and wet day in the Southern Region of Iceland. As we made our way to Þingvellir National Park, the winds were picking up and the visibility was going down. At that point in the trip, we had become accustomed to those conditions though.
After making a stop at Þórufoss, which is a breathtaking (and much larger) waterfall in its own right, we piled in the car and made our way to the famed Öxarárfoss, only 15 minutes away. It’s really easy to miss when driving along the rural routes, but thankfully we spotted the visitor parking lot from the road.
Nearly as beautiful as the waterfall itself, the trail that runs from the main road looks like something that belongs on another planet. Due to its location at the intersection of two tectonic plates, this area is famous for its strange rock formations and, despite being late April, there was still snow on the ground.
The trail culminates at Öxarárfoss and is complete with a modern (quite beautifully crafted) viewing platform. While this waterfall is not nearly as massive as some of the others in Iceland, it feels more sacred for some reason beyond explanation. Perhaps it is the legend, history, and mysticism that surround the area.
Limited Edition prints represent only the highest caliber work in my portfolio and must pass uncompromising standards with regard to composition, image quality, subject matter, and emotional value. Limited Edition prints are offered in three (3) sizes: the small size is a Limited Edition of 50, the medium size is a Limited Edition of 30, and the large size is a Limited Edition of 20. This means that all images offered as a Limited Edition have a total edition of 100 across all size options. After all 100 prints of any given Limited Edition have been sold, no other prints of that image will ever be produced again (with the exception of artist’s proofs which never exceed 10% of the total edition size).

Certificate of Authenticity
Limited Editions are supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) which provides pertinent information about the work, including its title, serial number, dimensions, relevant dates, and my full contact information as the artist and certificate issuer. In the event of an appraisal or resale, the COA establishes the authenticity and provenance of the work. It is highly recommended that the COA be kept with the work at all times, preferably non-permanently adhered to the back of the frame in which the print is mounted. For more information about the Certificate of Authenticity, please see the Certificate of Authenticity FAQ.
This Limited Edition is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 which is an archival quality, acid free, 100% cotton, 308gsm fine art paper with a smooth matte finish. With the proper care, this paper and the print that lives on it will retain their superior quality for generations. To learn more about caring for your Limited Edition print, please see the Print Care FAQ.
Custom Presentation Options
Due to the complexity of matting and framing options, it is not feasible to select custom mat and frame options via the online ordering process; therefore, by default, prints are shipped without mats and/or frames and it is the buyer’s responsibility to mat and frame their Limited Edition print should they choose to.
If you are interested in ordering a Limited Edition print that will be shipped in a mat and/or frame, before placing your order, please contact me and I will personally work with you to find presentation options that best suit the work and the location it will be displayed. Please note that custom presentation options will incur an additional cost.
