The Story
South Tyrol may very well be one of my favorite places in the world. It is a region of unending natural beauty, spectacular vistas, friendly people, and delicious food. On my most recent trip to the area, I decided that I had to visit the famous Chiesetta di San Giovanni (Church of Saint Johann) which is located at the end of the Val di Funes (Funes Valley) near the base of the majestic Geisler peaks.
In and of itself, this church is not particularly remarkable. Yes, it’s quaint and charming, but there are others like it. What makes it so special to me is the stunning contrast between its diminutive size and the imposing landscape that surrounds it. It was built right in the center of a large meadow with nothing immediately surrounding it; however, as you walk up to it, you can’t help but notice that it is framed by a breathtaking panorama. Snow covers the meadow and a dense forest behind the church leads the eyes up and towards the indomitable mountains, like sentinels guarding over the valley below.
I like to think that the church’s creator thought, “Perhaps the worship will take place as they walk across the meadow to reach the front door.”
Limited Edition
Limited Edition prints represent only the highest caliber work in my portfolio and must pass uncompromising standards with regard to composition, image quality, subject matter, and emotional value. Limited Edition prints are offered in three (3) sizes: the small size is a Limited Edition of 50, the medium size is a Limited Edition of 30, and the large size is a Limited Edition of 20. This means that all images offered as a Limited Edition have a total edition of 100 across all size options. After all 100 prints of any given Limited Edition have been sold, no other prints of that image will ever be produced again (with the exception of artist’s proofs which never exceed 10% of the total edition size).
To learn more about Limited Edition prints, please see the Limited Edition FAQ.
Certificate of Authenticity
Limited Editions are supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) which provides pertinent information about the work, including its title, serial number, dimensions, relevant dates, and my full contact information as the artist and certificate issuer. In the event of an appraisal or resale, the COA establishes the authenticity and provenance of the work. It is highly recommended that the COA be kept with the work at all times, preferably non-permanently adhered to the back of the frame in which the print is mounted. For more information about the Certificate of Authenticity, please see the Certificate of Authenticity FAQ.
Paper
This Limited Edition is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 which is an archival quality, acid free, 100% cotton, 308gsm fine art paper with a smooth matte finish. With the proper care, this paper and the print that lives on it will retain their superior quality for generations. To learn more about caring for your Limited Edition print, please see the Print Care FAQ.
Custom Presentation Options
Due to the complexity of matting and framing options, it is not feasible to select custom mat and frame options via the online ordering process; therefore, by default, prints are shipped without mats and/or frames and it is the buyer’s responsibility to mat and frame their Limited Edition print should they choose to.
If you are interested in ordering a Limited Edition print that will be shipped in a mat and/or frame, before placing your order, please contact me and I will personally work with you to find presentation options that best suit the work and the location it will be displayed. Please note that custom presentation options will incur an additional cost.
To learn more about custom presentation options, please see the Custom Presentation FAQ.
Shipping
Limited Edition prints with dimensions up to 24″ x 36″ are shipped in stay-flat boxes. This eliminates the need to roll prints in tubes, thus ensuring that your print arrives in a presentation-ready condition. Please allow up to four (4) business days of processing time for all new orders. Once your order has been processed, you will receive an email with a tracking code that you can use to monitor the shipment status of your order and determine an estimated delivery date. Depending on the shipping method you choose during checkout, it may take up to 2 weeks from the date you placed the order to receive your print.

This photo is stunning. It’s printed on high quality paper and Ben graciously provided suggestions for the kind of matte and frame that would do it justice and protect it from light exposure once it is framed and hung on a wall. I could not be more happy with it. Ben has an incredible eye for subject matter, composition, and story telling through his photos. I highly recommend his website.
